ASM is a non-profit professional organization that promotes and protects the practice of acupuncture in Massachusetts.
This course will review the methods to demonstrate a patient is improving using techniques that make it clear for the patient, the practitioner, the insurance company, and the Veterans Administration.
We will review how to chart notes and document the patient’s condition so that improvement can be ethically and clearly demonstrated. Patients do not always remember what degree of discomfort there was before improvement. These skills will help to patient to recognize improvement so they can continue treatment.
We will also cover outcome measures, how to use them, why to use them, and which ones to choose. Outcome measures are a way of quantifying subjective symptoms so that changes can be easily appreciated. Included will be how to score the patient reported outcomes and how to report the scores.
This class will also address how to fit this documentation into your practice as seamlessly as possible.
